Our Health Services Division began with the start of the Making Access Possible (MAP) Program. The program provides families with children access and direct assistance in enrolling their children into the Nevada Check-up Health Insurance Program. Referrals are made to low cost health care providers in the community that help families with their health care related needs. The program also provides quarterly health fairs. The health fairs help families' access health care information and give them guidance with appropriate information regarding nutrition and physical needs.

Program Goals
The Health Services Division offers services designed to improve the health of children in the State of Nevada. The division is a community partnership through the Making Access Possible Coalition. Nevada has a 16.4% uninsured rate for children, which is well ahead of the 12% national rate. 106,000 of Nevada’s children are uninsured. LSSN is working very hard to decrease the health disparities for uninsured children in the State of Nevada.
The Program is focused on achieving the following outcomes:
- Community outreach to increase enrollment in the Nevada Check Up Program.
- Provide referral information for health exams, preventive oral health and dental screenings.
- Comprehensive health information on immunizations, health services, fitness and nutrition education.
- Conduct health fairs and seminars in English and Spanish to give families guidance and information on health care, nutrition and physical fitness.
