Why Home Care?

Individuals who are elderly or who have physical limitations, and the family members who love them, share a common concern of finding appropriate care. While recognizing the value and dignity of living in the comfort of one's own home, individual limitations may prevent independent living. Home Care services can bridge the gap, and prevent or postpone a move to a more restricted living setting. Individuals who have experienced a loss in their ability to perform the activities of daily living need assistance in order to remain in a safe, clean, and healthy home environment. Angels of Care services allow clients to live an independent life style while staying in the comfort of their home. Our services are designed with the client's needs in mind and offer the freedom to design a plan that fits each individual.

Why Angels of Care?

Angels of Care-Homecare is a non-profit agency with a heart of compassion for the community of Southern Nevada. Our mission is to "Express the love of Christ by serving and caring for people in need." Lutheran Social Services has a long standing relationship of service to the community of Southern Nevada. Angels of Care Home Care was born out of that desire to meet the growing needs of seniors and physically limited individuals in the Las Vegas Valley. We continue to maintain the reputation of compassionate service already established by LSSN. Our home care philosophy is to never compromise on providing high quality services to your family. Our system allows you to afford a top quality caregiver. By keeping our overhead low we avoid passing high costs to you. Our commitment to professionalism and excellence provides assurance of quality services to you and your family. Home care services provided by trained Personal Care Attendants (PCA's) can help ease the burden of day to day care.

What does Home Care consist of?

Home Care is the term we use at Angels of Care-Home to care to describe all services provided to the client at home. Here are some terms and descriptions you may find helpful.

Personal Care includes assistance with ADL's and IADL's.

Activities of Daily Living (or ADL's) are the steps of daily living, including self-care tasks such as eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Below are the tasks we provide services for:

  • Mouth Care
  • Nail Care

  • Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (or IADL's) are certain daily tasks which enable one to live independently in the community such as light housekeeping, preparing meals, taking medications, shopping for food or clothing, using the telephone, managing money, and transporting clients to appointments.

Homemaking Services can encompass planning and preparation of meals, and routine housekeeping activities such as making/changing beds, dusting, vacuuming, washing floors, cleaning kitchen and bathroom, and laundry.

Respite Services are services furnished on a short-term basis because of the absence or need for relief of those persons normally providing the care.

Friendly Reassurance Services refers to making regular contact, through either telephone or home visits, with homebound individuals to assure their well being and safety.

    Individual Service
It is the policy of Angels of Care Home Care to match a client with the Home Care Worker who is most suitable based on the following criteria; client's needs and preferences, Home Care Worker's strengths, qualifications and preferences; similar personalities; common interests; and geographical proximity. Supervisor shall place the greatest emphasis for selection on the client/client's representative's preferences and needs.

Angels of Care-Home Care is comprised of these various services. Your Service Plan is dictated by you and your needs. Our Home Care Coordinator will meet with you (and your family members, if appropriate) to develop an individualized service plan.
