The food pantry at Lutheran Social Services of Nevada relies heavily on food donations to allow us to distribute as much food as possible to those who are struggling with food insecurity. The community’s generous donations enable us to meet the growing need for nutritious perishable and non-perishable foods. LSSN is moving towards providing more nutritious food in the concept of Green Light food distribution. Donations of the following items are always needed:
Whole grain bread: Sliced bread, Bagels, Tortillas, English muffins, Pita bread, Dinner rolls or other buns
Whole Grain Pasta: Whole wheat, Brown rice, Amaranth, Quinoa, Corn, Macaroni Noodles, Lasagna
Whole Grain Cereal: Steel cut oats, Rolled oats, Barley, Buckwheat, Granola, Grape Nuts, Cheerios,Kashi Instant Hot Cereal, Shredded Wheat
Whole Grain Side Dishes: Brown rice, Wild rice, Kasha (whole grain buckwheat), Quinoa, Wheatberries, Bulgur (cracked wheat),
Whole Grain Snacks: Popcorn, Whole wheat crackers, Whole rice crackers, Corn chips, Granola bars
Buy your groceries at Smith’s so we can benefit from your purchases!
