Gratitude and grace-sharing
It is such a great feeling when I think about our new and permanent home. It is so comforting to know that I will no longer sign the big monthly rent check to our landlord. 🙂
In 2014 we were blessed to work with Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada, Nevada Hand, Nevada Partners, Nevada Homeless Alliance, Renewing Life Center, Clark County Community Resources Management team, UNLV and Avaruus Studios to make LSSN’s dream a reality. We were gifted about 2.9 million dollars to build a welcoming, dignifying and happy building! No more rent checks, yay!!! We are so grateful to everyone who supported us. We are also very proud of our wonderful friend Steve Maahs of Avaruus Studios, our patient and talented architect who turned my handwritten manilla-folder drawings and our vision into a beautiful and welcoming building.
Five or more organizations will be housed under the same roof, and provide different services to those in need! How unique and efficient it would be to have employment, housing, nutrition, mental health and other services in one building…
The groundbreaking of our building will happen within the next two months, and I cannot wait for that day to come. We are also very happy that Clark County Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani, Gerard Ramalho from NBC Las Vegas and LSSN’s board of directors are passionately leading the Opening New Doors Campaign, which seeks to empower you and others to proudly invest in us so we can continue to leave a lasting community impact.
